Tips for good names

Keep class names as nouns that describe what the thing is, like InvoiceRepository rather than HandleInvoices. Avoid long chains of words when two or three will do. If your team writes acronyms in full capitals (HTTPClient instead of HttpClient), adjust the result by hand, since this converter follows the more common style of treating acronyms as normal words.

For variables and functions, you probably want camelCase instead.

Frequently asked questions

What is PascalCase?

PascalCase writes words together with no spaces and a capital at the start of each word, including the first one. Examples: ShoppingCart, HttpClient, UserSettingsPage.

Why is it called Pascal case?

The style became popular through the Pascal programming language in the 1970s and 80s, where it was the usual way to name things.

Is PascalCase the same as upper camel case?

Yes. Both names describe the same style. "camelCase" on its own usually means the version that starts with a lowercase letter.

Does it keep numbers?

Yes. Numbers stay in place and count as part of the word, so "version 2 api" becomes Version2Api.
