How to convert text to uppercase
- Paste or type your text in the Your text box.
- The UPPER CASE button is already selected, so the result is ready immediately.
- Click Copy result. That is it.
If you change your mind, click any other case button. Your original text is still sitting in the top box.
Good places to use all caps
Capital letters grab attention, which is exactly why they work in a few specific places:
- Short headings and labels such as "NEW", "SALE" or "FREE SHIPPING".
- Warnings and notices like "DO NOT REMOVE THIS COVER".
- Form fields that demand it. Some government and banking forms ask for names in block capitals.
- Codes and IDs such as postcodes, flight numbers and product SKUs, where uppercase keeps things consistent.
When to avoid it
Long passages in all caps are harder to read because every word has the same rectangular shape. Your eyes lose the ups and downs that help you recognise words quickly. In emails and chat, all caps also reads as shouting. For anything longer than a line or two, sentence case or title case is usually the better choice.
Need the opposite?
If you have text stuck in capitals, the lowercase converter turns it all small, and the sentence case option brings back normal capitalization at the start of each sentence.
