Tips for clean paths

Keep folder and route names short, lower case and free of spaces. That avoids problems on case sensitive systems like Linux servers, where Images and images are two different folders. If you want hyphens inside each part, convert to kebab-case first and add the slashes yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What is path/case?

path/case writes words in lower case and separates them with forward slashes, the same way folders are written in a file path or a website address.

Does it work for Windows paths?

Windows uses backslashes, but almost every modern tool, including Windows itself, also accepts forward slashes. If you need backslashes, run the result through our Find and Replace tool and swap / for \.

Will it add a slash at the start or end?

No. You get just the words joined by slashes, so you can add a leading slash for an absolute path or a URL route yourself.

Can I convert a whole list?

Yes. Each line is converted on its own, so you can paste many names at once.
